H.E. Khaled Al Kamda Inaugurates the International Family Medicine Conference & Exhibition

Dubai – United Arab Emirates, 16th of February 2014: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, H. E. Khaled Al Kamda, Director General of the Community Development Authority inaugurated today the International Family Medicine Conference & Exhibition at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre accompanied by Dr. Manal Taryam, Executice Director of primary healthcare services in Dubai Health Authority representing H.E. Eng. Essa Al Maidoor, Director General of DHA, Dr. Wen-Ta Chiu, Minister of Health & Welfare, Taiwan and a number of world key professors and specialists in the healthcare field.

The opening ceremony included a keynote speech for Prof. Tawfik A.M. Khoja, Director General of Executive Board of Health Ministers’ Council for GCC states, who had extended his great appreciation to the important role played by H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum who is sponsoring the event and to DHA’s prominent and leading role in Dubai and the UAE in promoting services in all medical and health care facilities to an extent that they had set an example to be followed on local, GCC, and regional levels.

From his side Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Director of the International Family Medicine Conference & Exhibition and the Global Family Medicine Alliance, welcomed all exhibitors and attendees and said: “I am very happy for your participation today in this significant event, which seeks to contribute to the development of the health sector in the city of Dubai, and promote the concepts of family medicine, treatment programs, and continuing education in addition to transferring the health program in an optimal way to the community.” Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani also welcomed Dr. Wen-Ta Chiu, Minister of Health & Welfare in Taiwan who came with a delegation consisting of more than 40 officials and specialists from the medical sector and government of Taiwan, in addition to heads of hospitals in Taiwan.
