Opv Switch Program

Reference: CIR-2016-SHN0644

Kindly be informed as per the attached circular from MOH dated and WHO resolution , all tOPV (containing types 1, 2 and 3) used for routine immunization or immunization campaigns should be replaced by bOPV (types 1 and 3).This event is called The Switch.

It is a global event, which in our country will take place on 01/05/2015.This means that beginning that date no more tOPV will be used anywhere and for any program, private nor public, in the country.

On switch day you:

· will stop using tOPV and only use bOPV instead;

· will take all tOPV out of the cold chain;

· All tOPV will be removed from the cold chain and safely disposed as per Dubai Municipality regulations.

It is strictly prohibited to immunize children with tOPV on or after switch day in any circumstance, whether it is to finish remaining stocks or because you were not supplied with bOPV.

Dubai Health authority will arrange training program and will update you regularly regarding the Switch

Physical inventory of the tOPV as per 1st of Jan, 1st Feb, 1st Mar, 1st Apr and then weekly from April 2016 from the clinics , Hospitals and agent stores and the use of IPV /OPV are required from all vaccination facilities to plan and report the switch activities to MOH national Switch management committee.

Kindly fill and send both attachments at the earliest to health regulation to update DHA and MOH national Switch management committee about use of IPV/OPV and inventory of OPV in your facilities.

Your kind cooperation in the correct planning and implementation of The Switch is therefore of critical importance and highly appreciated.

نود احاطتكم علما بأنه وفقا للقرار الوزاري المرفق وقرار منظمة الصحة العالمية فانه يجب إيقاف استخدام لقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي الثلاثي واستبداله بلقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي الثنائي سوآءا في التطعيم الروتيني او حملات التطعيم اعتبارا من 1 / 5 / 2016 وهو حدث عالمي يطلق عليه يوم التحول.

وهذا يعني أنه بداية من ذلك التاريخ لن يتم استخدام لقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي الثلاثي في أي مكان داخل الدولة وفقا لأي برنامج في القطاعين العام أو الخاص.

في يوم التحول يجب أن تقوم بالآتي:

• إيقاف استخدام لقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي الثلاثي واستخدام لقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي الثنائي فقط

• ازالة لقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي الثلاثي من سلسلة التبريد

• التخلص من لقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي الثلاثي بشكل امن وفقا للوائح بلدية دبي.

يمنع منعا باتا التطعيم بلقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي الثلاثي بدءا من يوم التحول تحت أي ظروف وسوآءا كان ذلك لإنهاء المخزونات المتبقية أو لعدم امدادكم بلقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي الثنائي.

يتم عمل جرد للقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي الثلاثي بكافة العيادات والمستشفيات والمخازن بكافة المرافق المقدمة للتطعيم وكذلك بيان بجرعات التطعيم المستخدمة من لقاح شلل الأطفال الفموي والعضلي وذلك في الأول من يناير والأول من فبراير والأول من مارس والأول من ابريل ثم أسبوعيا خلال شهر ابريل.

يرجى ملء وارسال النماذج المرفقة في أقرب وقت الى إدارة التنظيم الصحي وذلك لإرسالها الى لجنتي إدارة التحول بهيئة الصحة بدبي ووزارة الصحة.

سوف تقوم هيئة الصحة بدبي بتنظيم برامج للتدريب على عملية التحول والتواصل معكم في أي مستجدات.
