Ministerial Council Decree No.(550)2017 Concerning The Criteria For The Diagnosis Of Death

To: All HealthCare Facilities - Private Sector

With the release of the Ministerial Decree no. 550 for the year 2017 concerning the criteria for the diagnosis of death. And the publication in the UAE Official Gazette on 31/May/2017, we would like to acknowledge the application commencement of it and the need to adhere to its terms and conditions in all private health care facilities in Dubai, taking into account the important points:

·       Death is diagnosed either by complete and final cessation of the heart and breathing or by a complete and definitive cessation of all brain functions and doctors' decision that this cessation is irreversible in accordance with the criteria set out in the annex to this decision.

So, kindly adhere to the above details in order to avoid any penalties that might be taken as a result.
